theo: A small, independent eyewear brand out of Belgian with the slogan “theo loves you,” and we’re here to tell you the feeling is mutual. We love the unique designs of theo frames, we love the impeccable quality in which they are crafted, and we love the principles behind the brand itself.
theo was launched by two opticians, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, who wanted to provide their clients with more options outside of the mainstream frames and sunglasses that were popular at the time. The first theo frames created in 1989 were groundbreaking, and more than 20 years later, the brand continues to push the envelope of eyewear design. theo is unique in their inspirations and collaborations with renowned designers from different industries. The brand views eyewear from a completely unique perspective in order to spark creativity and keep their outlook fresh. This process results in the creation of captivating eyewear that both looks and feels good.
Originally, theo only operated in the avant-garde space, but as time went on and the business grew, the brand began to attract the attention of a wider audience. However, they still very much appeal to those with a strong sense of individualism and flair for the unpredictable. We like to think they pair nicely with one of our other favorite brands, Anne et Valentin.
