Summer Romance with Anne et Valentin

Updated: Jul 29, 2019

Who doesn’t love the story of a good, old fashioned summer romance? Well, we’re here to tell you that our love affair with Anne et Valentin continues and it has really begun to heat up with the arrival of our new favorite collections: Bold and Wink!

Both collections bring a strong feminine quality, with Bold emphasizing the daring and courageous side and Wink takes a more subtle, smaller approach.

BOLD

The Bold collection contains four assertive female models and were created in tribute to a liberating 2018. Their zany thicknesses, their snappy pure acetate frames, the frank, cover-version cuts; everything is designed to accentuate volumes and to feature the material, even on the arms, the matte bevels, which give a sculptural dimension to all forms of the concept.

The frames in the Bold collection are designed to be sensual, intense, and very strong. They are very present and as extrovert as possible. Every design detail was taken into account to appeal to a sense of absolute style. All aspects of the materials and material finish were used to strengthen the frames and pump up the volume. By choosing to explore the expansion of certain classic models, Anne et Valentin designers have reached an almost marginal ultra-presence, tempered by the purity and refinement of the object.

The collection signature, like a secret code to share between initiates, is found at the end of its branches, in the form of an Art Deco pattern punched in with style. “Audacity. Courage. Freedom. We are Women.”

WINK

The Anne et Valentin Wink collection is a series of small female models both strict and tense, for smaller faces. The arcades are all worked with cut and matted reliefs to create bursts of light and flatter the eye. The subtle detail, like a sign of recognition between initiates, has everything from a playful and accomplice wink.

These all-acetate frames are born of a desire to apply specific techniques to models whose simplicity is only apparent. The branches are also finished on a relief that echoes that of the faces. The lines are reinforced, to balance the sobriety of the forms. The chosen tones are measured and come to support the wardrobes that swear by the "less is more."

The Wink concept is to the glasses what the little black dress is to the dressing of any career girl who respects herself: essential and indispensable.

Stop by Risi Optique soon to try on frames from both these collections. However, we can't promise that you won't start your own love affair by doing so!
